1000 - Ruth Grimsley
Today I'd like to get the rest of my "Trimly Gusher - great feminist" sketch and song written, if at all possible. Tomorrow I'm intending to go back to the "Strum and Fiddle" open mic, and meet Jenny, the young singer-songwriter again. Then we can do the two sketches together. She's so bright and aware, and also does Drama as well as music. I will report in due course

Forgot to say that Andrew, the man that gave the Steiner-esque talk on music was billed as a music tutor at Freeman College. I'd never heard of this institution, nor was I particularly interested in it. I had no idea where it was, assuming that it was some established Steiner general education facility funded by legacies of deceased Steiner enthusiasts somewhere else in the country. But yesterday, coming back from Moorfoot on the 51 bus, I SAW it, here in Sheffield, on Eyre Street. I Googled it upon my return home. It's a school for people with learning difficulties, aged 16-24, and is financed by the Council. It is run on Steiner's principles, and teaches arts and crafts and organic gardening and other similar skills. That's Steiner-stuff all right, as I have understood it! Theories - I don't rate them. Practical applications thereof - stupendously good

Just to remind everyone that the name of Messrs "Sue, Grabbitt & Runne" is a straight-rip-off from Private Eye. Thanks, chaps!

No, of course not. I will see about arranging for Sir Vladimir to lend some money to Party funds

Do not utter that word within these walls, please, Sir Ben. Solicitors know nothing of bribes. And if I were you, I would excise the word from your vocabulary. We don't have BRIBES in this country

I see. Vladimir gives say, a million to Party funds, and the CPS goes quiet on his case. That's more than a gift: it's a BRIBE

You and Sir Vladimir will not be allowed to call it a gift. You will be allowed to call it a loan, even though, not only will it not be repaid, there also never was ever going to be any intention of repaying it Tell Sir Vladimir to get used to the idea

A loan that is never repaid at all, ever, and with no rate of interest? That's not a loan - it's a GIFT

The loan is never repaid
