Pardon? I didn't know there was any such thing

Mm, only partly. We needed a different word, because my mother still lives, and Joanie and my children call HER Grandma. The Yiddish word came in handy, because I knew it, and it was, as you say, traditional. More interestingly, like a lot of Yiddish words, it is what I would call meta-onomatopoeic

Not too bad for one so ill, Ruth. Please don't tell me you feel rubbish now though. We'll take that as read. It's boring everyone silly But why have you got Joanie to call you the Yiddish word for grandmother? Tradition?

Mike's taking Joanie home now. Quite pleased with what I managed to do with her:-
1. Behaved and chatted in normal grandmotherly style, with jokes and hugs and everything;
2. Detected that she was too hot, not spotted by the others (Mike, Manny, and g/f);
3. Got her to play having a "welcome home Boobba (Yid.: Grandma) party" with her cuddly toys and some pretend cake, cut out of card;
4. Got her to draw a Happy Birthday card for Rachel (birthday next Monday, the day after Mothering Sunday. But Joanie's doing a card for that occasion at her pre-school. (No, I'm not kidding: that's the horrible word they have for her nursery school.)

Oh no! It's happened AGAIN! The Times tells me that plans are afoot to deliver GROCERIES BY DRONE! In the course of writing this Diary, I've discovered that FICTION IS AN IMPOSSIBILITY. Every time I think of something fictitious, either I find that it's already happened, or it happens in reality soon thereafter. I ought to able to deduce something from thIs: only I'm not sure what

Enjoying some play with Joanie. Good. Wasn't expecting to enjoy anything. Wasn't even sure I'd be able to do it

Home. As to how I feel, least said, soonest mended. And I've been visited by a FICS lady, least said about that too, the better. I don't know why I loathe the FICS team so much. Maybe it's the FICSD smiles on their faces.
AARRGGHH! Why has it taken me so long to think of THAT joke?

No, but I can't think why not. It's such an obvious point. Sexual pleasure's pretty much a constant. If it's not doing as much for you as it once did, whatever's wrong with giving it a rest?

Oh - no-one seems to have thought of that, have they
